Packing LEAD
TITLE: PACKNG LEAD
Position Description
The Packing Team Lead will pack and verify orders which are categorized for this area, as well as serve as point of contact for the Packing team on fundamental issues (supplies, training, questions and concerns.) Working closely with the team to ensure that the daily objectives are being met, including productivity and quality goals. Making adjustments as needed to be successful in meeting the department daily metrics.
Essential Functions
- Setting and adjusting team responsibilities to meet daily objectives
- Insure all members are meeting daily productivity and quality goals
- Validation of training objectives and identifying gaps and reporting to management
- Meet all metrics, ensuring quality and production expectations are consistently met
- Ensure that all packing supplies are kept well stocked for the entire team
- Answer specific questions from the team and escalate to the Manager when needed
- Operate tugger, stock picker and forklift
- Identify products in stock by the item number
- Move the items from the carts and onto packing tables
- Identify the appropriate box and dunnage needed to safely and professionally ship the customer order

Required Education & Experience
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
Computer experience
Experience using forklift, or willingness to learn
Preferred Education & Experience
Previous experience in a Distribution Center
Being Bilingual is a plus
Physical Demands
This position is in a distribution center setting with most work being completed while standing/walking.
The employee is expected to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm with overtime as needed.
Work Environment
This position works in a distribution center that is heated, but not air conditioned, with varying temperatures and noise levels
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will provide front line oversight, but all disciplinary, scheduling and other employee relations items will be escalated to the Manager.
